On Tuesday Sceptre celebrated the launch of Stephanie Theobald's new book 'A Partial Indulgence'. It was a fancy affair at the newly refurbished Langham hotel and held in the very stylish new Artesian Bar. With Champagne by Ruinart, Whiskey by Glenmorangie and Snow Queen vodka, (the vodka cocktails being particularly good) it was not an ad for Cameron's age of austerity. There I unexpectedly bumped into the very lovely and talented Laura Dockrill - author and performance poet extraordinaire. I watched her in action for the first time at a Litro event at Foyles. Never have I seen an audience hold their breath quite like they did when she performed Roald Dahl's 'The Pig'. Laura was there with her friend Gemma from Radio 1Xtra.
I managed to latch onto a couple of photographers to get this shot of Jake Arnott and Virginia Bates, hence it looks a little more professional.
And then swaying slightly, but with my usual merry grin plastered on my face, we picked up some pretty pink goody bags (thank you very much) and trundled out of the hotel to find the after party.
